Currently in Haida Gwaii, this is a diary of my times spent and the people that I meet. To most it will be a surf update, to others a spiritual assessment, and definitely fun to all.

New Digs

Well, here's a pic of my new digs at the beach. Nice little surf shack eh? I've been a bit nomadic over the last month or two staying in hotels and surf shacks all over the beach. Been nice to have electricity and hot running water for a change, but looking to settle down in my own property here soon. Life has been great now that the snow has finally left us. We're getting our usual warm February and tricking us into thinking winter is over, but I'm sure March will give us a little smack down to remind us what weather on the North Coast is all about. As for life, I've been getting some good surf time in, but not as much as I'd like. The restaurant is booming and having a huge success which is fantastic. The summer will provide for a huge opportunity for us all once the tourists arrive.
Not a bad view from the front door... Macintire bay

The inside of the surf shack. Built in 2 weeks with a chainsaw and beach wood!

Winter Wonderland

I like this dual purpose sign.
Typical surf weather????

A little bit of WTF this past 2 weeks as it has snowed virtually everyday! We've had at least 2 feet fall on our little rain forest and the sitka spruce and ferns were not prepared! Despite the snow, the surf has managed to still roll in. Here are a few pics of the crazyness that has hit us in full storm, apparently larger than in recent memory.
