Absolutely amazing mushrooms that taste as good as the gravy you make with them. Funny story though.... had a few boletes that I brought to a friends house for dinner and as I showed her how to delicately slice these little fun guys with a filet knife and warm the pan up just so with butter and garlic, didnt' a herd of worms sneak their way out the mushroom. "They don't like the heat" she replied.. "Guess not" was my response to the episode that probably fucked us up for life. None the less, great mushrooms, worms and all. Let me know if I need to keep this going on or whether I should just write a tell all about my affairs with Dave Letterman. Oh, how I love that man...

I too am enjoying your saga, which i found thanks to Susan Musgrave's posting of a link on Facebook. I've shared the link with a couple of friends with an interest in Haida Gwaii.
I live in Tofino, which is kind of like Haida Gwaii lite in terms of scenery and isolation. But i hope to get up there sometime soon for an extended visit.
One suggestion: Your blog appears as one humongously long page with all X hundred posts on it. It takes a long time to load and is easy to get lost on. I'm pretty sure you can set it to display, say, 8 or 10 postings per page. That would make it easier on the humble reader.
Also, put a little more info about yourself on your profile. I'm curious as to your background, education, and how you wound up in the QCI.
