Currently in Haida Gwaii, this is a diary of my times spent and the people that I meet. To most it will be a surf update, to others a spiritual assessment, and definitely fun to all.

Is it hot in here or is it just you...

Mmmmm.... toasty warm. That's been the mantra since I've been here. How did our forefathers and foremothers do it. I couldn't imagine living in NB during the winter months with only wood heat to keep warm. My fire goes out and my nipples could cut concrete. Luckily on Haida Gwaii, in the coastal rainforest we have such wonderful weather, but wheweee, a cold snap and I'm gonna be making love to this stove. Alas, comforting as it may sound, I'm sure it will be painful.

Life today was obscure. Frustrations at the swim club were followed by wonderful times with friends, so I guess a mixed bag is better than no bag right? Am I being a bag? Surf was flat ass today, but apparently there are 30 foot waves at langara point so we should see a swell come in tomorrow. I did manage to get the kite running a couple days ago which is waaay cool for anyone who's ever seen this method of euthenasia. I'm hoping to find a good day to really get to know my new board. Until then, the ugly egg (surfboard) will be my stallion. I'm looking forward to getting up early for the big scallop swell that has been coming in. Amazing to think that my neighbor picked up nearly a $1000 worth of seafood before the seagulls got them. So tomorrow will hopefully be cockle-full. Stay positive.
